Schools Art Competition


Ages: 0 - 21 Years Old

When: Displayed throughout the show until 2pm Friday

Where: South End of Showcase Hall

Fees: Free to Enter

Theme: Food that comes from farms - farming feeds the whānau

Prizes: Prize cards will be awarded to entries placing 1st, 2nd, 3rd and Runner Up within each class, gaining 4, 3, 2 or 1 point(s) respectively. 

Trophies: The overall winning school with the highest number of total points will be awarded with the Perress Family School Art Cup. Prizegiving will be held at 2pm Thursday on the Community Performance Stage.

Each entry will receive a complimentary ticket to attend the HB A&P Show.

School classes are invited to submit their Creative and Digital artworks into the Schools Art Competition. Due to the number of school entries a maximum of 10 entries from each school class will be accepted (Schools may need to do some pre-judging). Anything from sculptures, paintings, collages, photographs, drawings , graphic designs and more are welcomed. Artworks will be displayed throughout the Show within the Showcase Hall (until 2pm Friday) in the relevant entrant age group with Prize Cards displayed. Please ensure all entries to be displayed on walls must come with velcro dots attached (sticky side only)

You can register online from 1st August. Entries close on 27th September.

Entries must be delivered to the Shearing Shed (use Gate 13 on Elwood Rd) at Tomoana Showgrounds between 10am-2pm on Friday 11th October. Outside of this time, by arrangement only. Late Entries will not be accepted. Construction judging will take place on 14th October.
