Ages: 0 - 13 years old

When: Friday 23 October, The Demo Area 11.30-12.30pm

Fees: A small fee of $5 per entry.

Prizes: Ribbons and Certificates will be presented to 1st, 2nd and 3rd placings.

Each entrant will receive 2 complimentary tickets to attend the HB A&P Show with a parent/guardian.

Children have the fun opportunity to enter into our pet competition with their pet lamb or farm animal. Cash or voucher prizes will be awarded for all classes

Registrations will be open online from 1st August 2026 and close on the 16th of October 2026.

Classes:

  • Best Dressed Lamb and Handler
  • Best Led Lamb - (a bit of an obstacle course showing the lamb who is trained the best at leading. No parent help or dragging of pet)
  • Best Groomed Lamb & Most Knowledgeable Handler - (judge will ask questions to attain who is the most knowledgeable along with who has the best groomed pet)
  • Fastest Lamb and Handler - (a race on the lead, no bottles or dragging)
  • Best Dressed Farm Animal & Handler
  • Best Led Farm Animal - (a bit of an obstacle course showing the lamb who is trained the best at leading. No parent help or dragging of pet)
  • Best Groomed Calf & Most Knowledgeable Handler - (judge will ask questions to attain who is the most knowledgeable along with who has the best groomed pet)
  • Best Small Pet - (chickens are best entered into the junior poultry competition)
  • Champion & Reserve Calf
  • Campion & Reserve Lamb
