Shearing competitions are fast and furious, watch competitions like wood chopping or carving or the most popular event at the 2025 show, sausage dog racing, and world-class equestrians strut their stuff to the audience’s delight. Crowd favourite remains the farmyard and petting zoo, which is considered one of the best in New Zealand. Families love the opportunity to get up close to all kinds of farm animals.
