HB A&P Show – Community Challenge
Grab your mates. Take on the Show. Earn the bragging rights.
We’re calling on sports clubs, rural crews, workmates, family groups, social teams - anyone who’s keen for a laugh, a challenge, and a bit of healthy competition to step up for the Community Challenge at the HB A&P Show.
This isn’t just one event. This is about getting stuck into the Show, entering across different competitions, and earning points for your team as you go. And at the end… the crew with the most points takes home the cash, the glory, and the bragging rights for the year.
How It Works

Form your crew - min of 3 people

Enter four competitions in total - two you choose from the list below and two mystery challenges revealed on the day.

Choose any two from these classic A&P Show events:

AFFCO Best of the Bay – showcasing the region’s finest beef cattle
Entries close 22nd September 2025

Export Lamb – pen-of-three judged on hoof and carcass
Entries close 14th October 2025

Porklords – A special class in the Porklords section for Community Challenge Pigs (Please enter other Porklords classes on EVO)
Entries close for Porklords on the 9th October 2025

Handmade – 1 decorated cupcake (presented on jar lid with jar used as a cover)
Entries close the 6th of October, items to be dropped off at the Exhibition Hall 10am-2pm 13th October, for judging on the 14th October.
Mystery Challenges
Two extra challenges will be kept secret until the day - they could be anything from quick-fire rural skills to unexpected, crowd-pleasing games.You’ll need to think fast, work as a team, and maybe even laugh at yourselves along the way.
Scoring

Every competition you enter earns points for your crew.

Points are based on placing in each event - the higher you place, the more you score.

Mystery challenges also earn points, so even if you’re not a pro at the traditional events, you could still take the title with quick thinking and teamwork.
Prizes

1st place: $1,000

2nd place: $750

3rd place: $500

Spot prizes: For standout efforts, great sportsmanship, and best team spirit
